I haven't necessarily finished the book yet (I'm only halfway through) BUT, it's so captivating and I absolutely adore it。 The flow of the words and the way everything is put into organized phrases really helps you understand how important such things are。 You don't even have to be a Muslim to enjoy the book or to experience the feeling of being loved that this book gives, its open to everyone which is why I 100% recommend it I haven't necessarily finished the book yet (I'm only halfway through) BUT, it's so captivating and I absolutely adore it。 The flow of the words and the way everything is put into organized phrases really helps you understand how important such things are。 You don't even have to be a Muslim to enjoy the book or to experience the feeling of being loved that this book gives, its open to everyone which is why I 100% recommend it 。。。more

If I could, I want to rate this book 10 stars🥺This book enlightened me in a way I never thought I could。 I’m reminded that at our core, we are a symbol of Allah’s infinite love, only our greed, lust, arrogance and all of the negative characteristics veiled us from the Truth。 All my life I always wondered what is my purpose in life and A。 Helwa answered that question, in fact she answered a LOT of my questions… This is the 1st book that I read that I feel peace & contentement。 A。 Helwa is truly b If I could, I want to rate this book 10 stars🥺This book enlightened me in a way I never thought I could。 I’m reminded that at our core, we are a symbol of Allah’s infinite love, only our greed, lust, arrogance and all of the negative characteristics veiled us from the Truth。 All my life I always wondered what is my purpose in life and A。 Helwa answered that question, in fact she answered a LOT of my questions… This is the 1st book that I read that I feel peace & contentement。 A。 Helwa is truly blessed by The Merciful to have the creativity and profoundness to write this magnificent book。 。。。more

I came across this book after liking a quote from the book。 I was very excited to read the book。 However, once I started reading and the first thing that seemed completely off was that the author repeatedly gives off this notion that all creations are part of the creator。 Believing this has it's danger of falling into shirk。 We, ALLAH's creation belong to HIM, we are not part of him。 I came across this book after liking a quote from the book。 I was very excited to read the book。 However, once I started reading and the first thing that seemed completely off was that the author repeatedly gives off this notion that all creations are part of the creator。 Believing this has it's danger of falling into shirk。 We, ALLAH's creation belong to HIM, we are not part of him。 。。。more

Menurutku, buku ini seperti alarm yg membangunkan iman kita yg mungkin terlelap terlalu lama。 Plus, ada bagian refleksi tiap akhir bab untuk kita latihan menyadari keberadaan cinta-Nya。 I think that's beautiful and very helpful。 Banyak referensi juga buat yg mau mempelajari tasawuf lebih dalam lagi。Tp emang diksinya terlalu berbunga-bunga, terus setiap nyisipin ayat atau hadis atau quote dari tokoh sufi gitu gak pake teks bahasa Arab atau sumber kitab dan nomor hadisnya jadi gak bisa crosscheck。 Menurutku, buku ini seperti alarm yg membangunkan iman kita yg mungkin terlelap terlalu lama。 Plus, ada bagian refleksi tiap akhir bab untuk kita latihan menyadari keberadaan cinta-Nya。 I think that's beautiful and very helpful。 Banyak referensi juga buat yg mau mempelajari tasawuf lebih dalam lagi。Tp emang diksinya terlalu berbunga-bunga, terus setiap nyisipin ayat atau hadis atau quote dari tokoh sufi gitu gak pake teks bahasa Arab atau sumber kitab dan nomor hadisnya jadi gak bisa crosscheck。 Anyway, kehati-hatian memilih buku bacaan emg penting, terutama latar keilmuan si penulis。 。。。more

I love a good Sufi book but this was not it。。 Literally- I would not categorize this as Sufism or any form of traditional Islamic spirituality。 I felt uncomfortable with the energy the book gave。。 it was not in line with deeni values- at least that’s how I felt。 There was a precedence given to writing and tone that felt as if it were overlooking hard rules and beliefs in Islam。 Modernity is generally not an issue if what you’re bringing is new styles and points of view- existing theology should I love a good Sufi book but this was not it。。 Literally- I would not categorize this as Sufism or any form of traditional Islamic spirituality。 I felt uncomfortable with the energy the book gave。。 it was not in line with deeni values- at least that’s how I felt。 There was a precedence given to writing and tone that felt as if it were overlooking hard rules and beliefs in Islam。 Modernity is generally not an issue if what you’re bringing is new styles and points of view- existing theology should not be sacrificed for this。 If you’ve ever spent time reading or in Sufi spaces you know aqeeda and wordings are generally things people don’t play about, and for good reason。 Another problem I had was that the audience the author had in mind was not your average Muslim。。 it was just anybody- this is explicitly stated in the text and it is clear that it has influenced a lot of their writing。 Despite all my issues。。 many Muslims live this text and find solace in it。 That’s why I gave an extra star。 May Allah guide us all。 。。。more

This book is about Ikhsan/Sufism/Tasawwuf。Some people have bad opinion of this book because difference between their practice, beliefs, and doctrines。You can set aside for a while Islam/Sharia/Law and Iman/Faith/Tawheed aspect from this book if it's different than your imam/sheikh。Five stars anyway This book is about Ikhsan/Sufism/Tasawwuf。Some people have bad opinion of this book because difference between their practice, beliefs, and doctrines。You can set aside for a while Islam/Sharia/Law and Iman/Faith/Tawheed aspect from this book if it's different than your imam/sheikh。Five stars anyway 。。。more

Such a beautiful BEAUTIFUL book 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 12 chapters, 12 crying emoticons。 Each emoticon represents myself who cried hard in every chapter。Alhamdulillah, for choosing me as your representative in earth。 Alhamdulillah, for making me a Muslim。 Alhamdulillah, for allowing to be an ummah of Rasulullah SAW。 Alhamdulillah。

Don’t read this book。 There’s no proper citation and most of the writing is based on the author’s own perspective and opinion。 Terrible

Really great book about Islam and very well-written and divided into the different chapters。 Highly recommend reading even if you aren't Muslim because the stories she uses as examples are great ways to practice spirituality in general。 Really great book about Islam and very well-written and divided into the different chapters。 Highly recommend reading even if you aren't Muslim because the stories she uses as examples are great ways to practice spirituality in general。 。。。more

Though I don't rate it 5 stars, the book is really amazing。 Especially for a person with love language word of affirmation like me, it has a lot of comforting parts, good comforting parts。 I like how it reminds us about our worth in the beginning of the book, and then it goes to the fundamentals about the deen, and then again gives reminder about who we are。 I'm quite sure I'll need that book again some time in the future to remind me about the love which is always there for me。 Yes, me。 (And yo Though I don't rate it 5 stars, the book is really amazing。 Especially for a person with love language word of affirmation like me, it has a lot of comforting parts, good comforting parts。 I like how it reminds us about our worth in the beginning of the book, and then it goes to the fundamentals about the deen, and then again gives reminder about who we are。 I'm quite sure I'll need that book again some time in the future to remind me about the love which is always there for me。 Yes, me。 (And you!) 。。。more

I could never rave about this book enough! I consistently fought the urge to highlight every line as it delivers the message of Divine Love so gracefully and metaphorically。 I have to send my sincere du’as to A。 Helwa for putting this timeless gem out into the world。 We definitely needed this。

Here's what I liked:- How the content was categorized- Du'as at the end of every chapter- Small and concise history lessons What I struggled with:- The writing: It felt repetitive at times and just too flowery - This could've easily been a hundred or so pages shorter in lengthWill I read this again? Probably。 Here's what I liked:- How the content was categorized- Du'as at the end of every chapter- Small and concise history lessons What I struggled with:- The writing: It felt repetitive at times and just too flowery - This could've easily been a hundred or so pages shorter in lengthWill I read this again?
